A member is considered ‘ACTIVE’ if attending annual meetings, participating in church discussion groups and activities, taking classes, or contributing.
Membership status may be terminated by request of a member, the death of a member, misconduct, or inactivity for two years or more.
Church membership is a public affirmation of someone’s public profession of faith in Christ, and Jesus has appointed
baptism as how his followers publicly profess their faith. We can’t affirm the profession of someone who hasn’t yet made that profession. Baptism is publicly identifying yourself with Christ and his people (Acts 2:38–41). It’s how you visibly signify that you are united to Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Rom. 6:1–4). It’s how you are identified before the church and the world as one who belongs to the Triune God (Matt. 28:19).
God selected people from every nation and tribe scattered throughout the earth, all those who God has given the gift of faith to believe. Our local gathering, organized in a way that functions within the parameters given in the scriptures, is often described as "the local church."
Membership is one way to raise the flag of faith and to state before God and others that you are committed to being a part of this local body of believers.
Membership is not simply an opportunity to say: "I’m a part of this organization", but rather a scriptural expression of covenant connectedness to a church.
Membership reflects the organic community already existing in the body of Christ. In Romans 12:5, Paul says we are a body ~ in Romans 12:5. For in one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body.
When an individual is baptized, he becomes a member of the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13). Because he is united to Christ and the other members of the body in this way, he is therefore qualified to become a member of a local expression of that body. One who, by his own volition, has declared allegiance, commitment, or submission to, or affiliation with our assembly specifically and exclusively and has been accepted by our group based on specific criteria.
Church membership is important because it helps define the clergy’s responsibility.
How do I become a member?
If you have never been baptized, you will prepare for baptism.
If you were baptized as an infant or young child, have not made a profession of faith, and have been confirmed, you will prepare to reaffirm your baptism when you
take the membership vows.Suppose you are a member of another church where you were baptized as an adult. In that case, you can be a member of the Independent United Methodist Fellowship because you made your profession of faith and were received as a member.

HEB 13:17 Be obedient to those leading you, and be subject, for these do watch for your souls, as about to give account, that with joy they may do this, and not sighing, for this `is' unprofitable to you, they are counted worthy, especially those labouring in word and teaching,
You should know that members of the church are called:
Members of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:15; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Romans 12:4-5)
Disciples of Christ (Acts 6:1,7; Acts 11:26) Believers (Acts 5:14; 2 Corinthians 6:15)

You as a member
We are a Christ-centred community together we serve God and we invite you to get to know us better!
Membership is open to anyone who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and desires to be a fully devoted follower of Him. (Note: Only Catholics can be members of our Catholic Ministries).
The only requirements for church membership are that you have personally trusted Christ for salvation and have been baptized. If you have never been baptized by immersion, we have a series of Baptismal Classes to explain it (Only for New Hope Ministry & Missions (Baptist) and Eric Michel Pentecostal Ministry.
Eric Michel Ministries International, IAoC, is run using the episcopal and congregationalist polity and we are NOT associated with other congregations in a denomination or convention that is why we call ourselves independent
Eric Michel Ministries International: Baptist, Catholic, Evangelic, Methodist and Pentecostal are used to mean the whole traditions to which we belong.
Eric Michel Ministries International is a fellowship of persons who have voluntarily followed Jesus as Lord and voluntarily associated with one another under his lordship and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Becoming a member is an individual response of faith, growing as a Christian is enhanced by fellowship with other Christians. Baptized life was designed not as a solo endeavour but as a fellowship experience, with a church being the primary fellowship. The New Testament concept of the church focuses on a local body of baptized believers in Christ.
As Baptized, we believe that church membership should include only the redeemed in Christ, but we encourage and welcome all persons to attend various activities, worship services, Bible studies and ministry events that are open to all persons. We would like to encourage you to join our church family at Eric Michel Ministries International
